Under the leadership of hit filmmaker Lal Jose, Kalabhavan London is organizing an Acting & Filmmaking Workshop in London.

For many who work in the creative field, acting in a film—or becoming part of a film in any capacity—is a cherished dream. Kalabhavan has long been a platform that has contributed countless talents to the Malayalam film industry. It has introduced renowned actors such as Jayaram, Dileep, and Kalabhavan Mani; directors including Siddique, Lal, Rafi, and Mecartin; music directors like Berny and Ignatius; playback singers including Sujatha; and numerous other professionals working across various technical departments in cinema.

Following this rich legacy, Kalabhavan London—the official UK franchise of Cochin Kalabhavan—is now launching initiatives aimed at nurturing and shaping new talents for the film industry.

As the first step in this mission, Kalabhavan London is conducting an Acting & Filmmaking Workshop in London, guided by some of the most respected talents in Malayalam cinema.
The workshop will be led by acclaimed director Lal Jose, known for delivering numerous box-office hits. He will be joined by scriptwriter and DOP Shiju M. Bhasker, director Arun Kumar, and actor and acting trainer Sharan.

The first workshop is scheduled to take place in London on February 14 and 15, 2026.

The workshop will include detailed theory classes and practical sessions in:

• Direction

• Scriptwriting

• Cinematography (DOP)

• Acting

Participants will also receive training in:

• Screen acting techniques

• Audition preparation (How to face an audition)

In addition, the program will include discussions on short-film production and follow-up initiatives aimed at helping participants enter the film industry.

Alongside the workshop, a special networking event titled “Connecting Actors & Filmmakers” will be organized for those aspiring to work in acting, direction, scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, production, and other film-related fields.
